Robin is a native Zambian, born in 1962. After completing his education in Zimbabwe and South Africa, Robin completed an apprenticeship in Zambia and obtained his Professional Hunter's license in 1982. Later, he was licensed in the Sudan, Tanzania and the Natal and Transvaal provinces of South Africa.

Between 1991 and 1993, Robin was general Manager of Chibote Safaris in Zambia where he gained invaluable experience in the running of a safari company. He then returned to fulltime professional hunting in 1993. In 1994, he joined Tanzania Game Tracker Safaris as a professional hunter, and began hunting extensively in Tanzania. Robin is a member of the Professional Hunters Associations of Zambia, South Africa and Tanzania, Safari Club International and the International Professional Hunters Association.
